New gondola links traditional Austrian villages

Alpbach and Auffach linked by new gondola

A new Gondola has recently been built at the foot of ‘The Weidersberger’, also known as ‘The Skiing Mountain’, near to the town of Alpbach. The two stage gondola enables an easy link between the ski towns of Alpbach and Auffach which are located in two adjacent valleys, giving ski enthusiasts the choice of a wide range of slopes to enjoy over the course of their stay.

Only a short walk from Alpbach itself, the resort is open year round and is the ideal base to enjoy a range of snow sports throughout the area. The new lift allows its users to easily explore the surrounding area. Although not directly linked, the smaller resorts of Niederau and Reith are only a short journey away. This provides visitors to the area over 45km of ski runs and 22km of scenic cross country trails for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

The town itself offers all of the amenities needed for an unforgettable winter holiday in Austria, having been voted as ‘’Austria’s most beautiful village’’ in the past, the area is exceptionally scenic and the panoramic views are outstanding.

Only a seven minute walk from the new gondola, Haus Hislop is a modern house comprising of four luxury apartments situated in Alpbach, Austria. The apartments are in close proximity to a range of restaurants, bars and hotels allowing their guests to enjoy the charm and beauty of the town.
