Glowboarding in the Alps
Fashion photographer Jacob Suttton switched his studio for the Alpine slopes of Tignes, his models for pro-snowboarder William Hughes and his lighting for a bespoke L.E.D. covered suit, made by John Spatcher to create the incredible video below.
Sutton, justifying the bizarre and fantastic concept, said “I've always been excited by unusual ways of lighting things, so it seemed like an exciting idea to make the subject of the film the only light source”.
William Hughes describes the experience of glowboarding as 'the most surreal thing I’ve done in 20 years'. The team filmed for three nights, at temperatyres of -25C to get the shot. Hughes was grateful for 'plenty of vin rouge' and 'Jacob's enthusiasm' to get him through it.
