Be snow sure in Paradiski

The all rounder.

The Winter Ski season is going to be in full swing in the next couple of months so I If found myself looking for a personal holiday trip to La Plagne, it would be my first ski trip so I thought it would be best if I put a little background research together to get a good sense of the location before I start packing my thermals. What I found is the amount of variation within La Plagne leaves you happily content that you will find something that is perfectly suited to yourself and your party. The whole array of information that was on offer to me really took me by surprise so I filtered out the information that really appealed to me.

La plagne is mainly made up of small self sufficient mini resorts and they all have a lot to offer, at the focal point of all the attention is La Plagne center. Many happy returns after turning 50 this year La Plagne. Moreover, in the heart of the village you will be spoilt for choice on eateries, from steaks to traditional Savoyard places your choices are endless. If you fancy a more traditional rustic feel all you have to do is follow the road down the town and then you will eventually get to Plagne 1800 which has friendly, charming and a cozy wooden backdrop to enjoy your meal to.

A great appealing attribute is that these areas are mostly built up of ski in/ski out chalets which just adds that extra va va vom! Once you’re on the slopes you will negotiate a range of intermediate slopes to nursery slopes, which helps everyone out with their skiing abilities, especially me who cannot ski. Plagne 1800 offers a different challenge as the setting is set on a steep slope, so some walking maybe needed. By the slopes being at a altitude of 2000m to 2700m you are more then sure to get ski sure slopes but don't worry if they are lacking in white powder as the artificial snow is and has been massively improved to create skiable conditions throughout.

The one feature that that really stood out to me is I like to see the sites and explore and the Vanoise Express would assist me in doing this. I was astonished when reading the specifications about this incredible ski car. By it holding 200 passengers at a time and 2000 in a hour means you can go from La Plagne to Les Arcs in no time, what a great piece of engineering and a great way to see the sites. I am aware that the Canadians have built a bigger one but La Plagne was the first!

The trip to La Plagne will be one of a kind but its just the matter of choosing the accommodation. Just like the eateries the options are endless, from sole occupancy to sharing, to luxury to budget.

As the options are endless and the scenery is out of this world, it’s safe to say I will make the trip to La PLagne.
