A new chairlift upgrades Les Collons' access to the Four Valleys

A new Les Masses chairlift in Les Collons transforms the resort's access to Thyon and the Four Valleys

Les Collons is a small, traditional-style village just 300m down from Thyon 2000. The resort gives access to Thyon's skiing area and the great Four Valleys (Valais) area, which offers 410km of piste served by 89 chairlifts.

However, although it may be an idyllic holiday location, Les Collons has suffered due to its inadequate lift system connecting it to the greater skiing area. Thankfully, this winter (2013/2014) sees the arrival of a new Les Masses chairlift - updating the original that was built in 1982. The four seater takes you up to the Thyon skiing area in just four minutes, and is situated on top a car park with a 200 car capacity.

This is a great boost for the resort and will surely increase its profile, increasing the appeal of accommodation in Les Collons, which is largely built in the Alpine style of wood-clad chalets. One such option is the luxury Chalet Collons 1850. This self-catered chalet is located just 5 minutes from the town centre and only 250m from the lifts! Sleeping up to 10 people it's perfect for group or family holidays, and first-class amenities including a sauna make it a fantastic place to relax after a day on the snow.
