Come out to Soldier Mountain, we'll get together, have a few laughs...

Bruce Willis gives a ski-resort to non-profit org

"Die Hard" movie star, Bruce WIllis has given his privately owned ski resort in Idaho, Soldier Mountain, to the community group.

Though Willis has owned the small ski haven for 20 years, he's happy to pass it on to a 'good home', saying in a news release that 'he couldn’t be more pleased with the organization” and that  “it was exciting to see that the very people who ski at Soldier care so much about its future.”
The non-profit organisation formed as soon as they heard that Willis might donate the mountain, along with its three ski lifts and 1 400 vertical feet of slopes. Founder Will Varin stated that “It went from idea to execution in a matter of weeks,”.

The group are looking to preserve Soldier Mountain's reputation as well as introducing new features, such as catskiing services which will give access to runs which don't have lifts and facilitate traditional all-day back country ski trips.

The mountain is still waiting for enough snow to open for the 2012-13 season. Once it gets enough, it’ll be open Thursday through Sunday.
